Three months ago, I sold Emma. It was a hard decision to make, given I consider owning her a boyhood dream, but it was the right thing to do. If I’m honest, I had not ridden her once in the 2013 calendar year, despite Seattle being home for some of the most perfect summer riding weather. I suppose I’m getting old because the thought of gearing up and going out for a ride always seemed like such a hassle. That, combined with no friends to ride with and Melissa refusing to ride, signaled it was time. It is a truly gorgeous bike and, like my S4, will likely be the one I think about years after owning it. On the bright side, I got what I paid for it a couple years ago. I love getting a good deal! Of course, I’ll always have a messed up back as a souvenir too…
I am now motorcycle free for the first time in 8+ years. I think a sport tourer may in our future, but that probably won’t be until I have a midlife crisis and Melissa and I want to take a vacation touring around the Pacific NW. My how things change.
On a side note, I took the opportunity to clean up the links to the left side a bit. There were a couple pages that really aren’t an active part of my life these days, so I moved them to an archive. There were also quite a few blogs linked that haven’t been updated in years, so I removed them too. It’s interesting (okay, maybe not) what adulthood and sites like Facebook have done to the world of personal blogs.
