Speaking of Facebook, I got sucked into doing one of those “25 Things…” posts. I realize these are just the modern equivalent of those stupid e-mails but I went for it anyway. I resisted for weeks but the more I thought about what I would write, the deeper into my psyche I went. We got some pretty harsh news yesterday and I actually felt the 30 minutes I spent writing these was therapeutic in some strange way (see #25). Anyway, here’s the repost if you haven’t seen them.
1. I overachieve; probably ’cause I was constantly told I “could do better” as a kid.
2. I have never been so insecure about myself as I was in Japan… and it was amazing.
3. I have two motorcycles but the economy has me considering selling one.
4. I am 80% sure I will never have kids.
5. I can’t wait until my nieces are old enough to sleep at Uncle Chris’ house.
6. I need to live in another country (at least for awhile) or my life won’t be complete.
7. I had a significant drug problem in college and nearly flunked out.
8. I have been with my wife for 1/3 of my life.
9. I cook almost every day.
10. I have lost 1 pound a month for the last 28 months.
11. I have a slight tendency towards OCD (like counting when I walk up steps).
12. I have a pillow that is everywhere I sleep. It’s been to India, Japan, Russia, etc.
13. I absolutely loathe the smell of “fake” grape.
14. I believe in God, but not religion.
15. I have two cats named after X-Men characters.
16. I went on 14 trips in the last 3 years because I love to travel.
17. I love doing my taxes.
18. I am a self-admitted food snob.
19. I want to get paid to take pictures but can’t deal with the stress.
20. I am glad my mom and sister get along so well.
21. I started smoking cigarettes at 17 but stopped 9 years ago.
22. I secretly wish to find myself in a wilderness survival scenario.
23. I am thankful for the advantages I’ve had in my life.
24. I have to know how everything works.
25. I should have been studying all this time but actually found this therapeutic.
