With FiOS installed in the neighborhood about two months ago and our promotional plan with Comcast finally over, we’ve upgraded. I opted for the cheapest plan, which is 5 Mb down and 2 Mb up. It’s was about the same price as cable with relatively similar download speeds… but the up is 2-3x faster. As someone who is seemingly uploading countless photos and videos, I really grew tired of the 768 Kb cable offered. We’re not getting quite the 2 Mb quoted but I can’t complain about 1.7 Mb when we’re getting 0.2 Mb more than provisioned on the download. A nice bonus with FiOS is the low latency. Not only will it make my Xbox Live gaming experiences better, it also makes the web feel faster because sites start rendering quicker. Good riddance cable! I can’t say I’ll miss you.

Welcome 🙂 We just got ours in at the new place. Being without internet at home for a week is really weird…
I’m consistently getting about 5.15mb down and 2.75mb up with spikes to 3.2. You might want to call up and complain, but I’d wager they won’t do a thing about it.
