Just a quick update after another 10 weeks. The “magic number” (read: weight) really hasn’t changed that much but I’ve been increasing my lifting capability steadily. Clothes fitmet seem to be the major indicator as mine seem to be quite a bit looser. I’ve already gone down one pant size, I’m on the last hole of my belt and I feel like even these are beginning to hang off my ass.
I also have annecdotal evidence of strength and endurance from racing this past weekend. Not only did I not grow as physically tired in a longer race this past weekend (35 min vs 25), I also wasn’t nearly as sore as I usually am the two days after. That’s definitely “a win” as they say in my office. (Ugh… did I just say that?)
I’m sure I would see additional results if I went more than twice a week but I feel I’ve struck a reasonable balance and haven’t burned out like so many other times before. I guess at six months I can officially say it’s a long term commitment to being healthier?
There difference from last September is pretty dramatic but I think there’s also a difference between January and March. These pictures aren’t the greatest of quality (or angle/lighting for comparison) but you get the idea. (Click for bigger)
But Fat Chris(tm) is so much funnier to see on the 4-wheeler!
This sucks…
On the bright side, maybe you can run the Chicago Half Marathon with me later this year! Yay!
