I spent the last 4.5 days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio for the 944 Cup National Championship as part of NASA Nationals event.
Racing was good times, Scott Savol did an amazing job with the National Anthem, I’m crazy tired from getting up early for four solid days of racing and a few cars got wrecked… is Nationals in a nutshell. It was disappointing for me because I got a flat tire with 3 laps to go in the Championship race and finished last but overall it was a low pressure, entertaining weekend. My old man is a huge fan of Scott Savol’s and actually arranged for him to come sing the anthem. He and his family hung out and ate lunch after our race, which was cool. Be sure to check out the link below for the growing collection of in-car clips from the weekend including part of the National Anthem and several views of the on-track incident.
Bonus for the weekend was the Cowboys beating the Skins! I lost the $20 I put on the Skins but I took them +6 because I thought it was going to be a closer game. I’m definitely okay with losing the cash and actually bet it in hopes that I would lose it.
Super Bonus? We went bowling today at work and I bowled a 185 in our singles free-for-all matchup. We also did some team betting (we’re gambling degenerates at work) and I was on the winning team each time. I walked out of the bowling alley with $30 more than I went in with so not only did I get paid to bowl, I actually got paid to bowl. 🙂
