This form has bugs in Firefox and Chrome with the latest version of Wordpress.
Unfortunately, IE is the only browser I know works 100% of the time.
The developers tell me they are working on it.

Can You Hear Me?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

As you can probably tell, I’ve decided to open this site back up to the general public. I haven’t written much in the two months it was protected, but I did do a somewhat major redesign. Blogger informed me they were abandoning support for FTP publishing, so I decided to give hosting my own WordPress solution a try. So far I’m supremely impressed; my only complaint is I can’t sort the links on the left any other way but alphabetical. Anyway, I hope you like the new, cleaner style as much as I do.

As to why I haven’t written… the truth is, I’m creatively tapped. I was pretty burned out after finishing grad school and then I had shoulder surgery two weeks before getting laid off. I’ve been lucky enough to find another job in six weeks time and I truly believe it’s going to be for the better (although it’s kinda annoying that everyone says that). The experience affected me deeply and my next post is going to be an attempt to describe it from an honest, and hopefully less-than-uberbitter, point of view. As part of it, I’ll also explain why this redesign really happened. I’m not ready to write it, but hopefully soon.

Thanks for coming back.

DirtyMartiniPhoto.com 2.0

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Spurred by some new code and friendly competition, I did a somewhat major redesign of my Dirty Martini Photography website. Aside from the obvious changes you’ll notice, there are many subtle changes that you’ll probably never realize. I thought about listing them all out, but I suppose pulling back the curtain kinda ruins it.

It’s changed enough that I wish I’d taken a screen shot of it before to compare to what it is now. Google’s cache updated before I could grab it and the Way Back Machine doesn’t have what I’m looking for so I guess we’ll have to rely on your memory. I think the new version is much less amateur looking… something I’ve wanted for a long time. I’ll probably be tweaking stuff here and there to fine tune but overall I’m very happy with the result.
