One of my many hobbies is photography. I have a budding amateur portfolio and believe I'm ahead of the curve for my level of experience. I enjoy the artistic aspect and love taking pictures that others appreciate as such. Most of my work started as automobile and travel photography and while this stuff is great fun, I've discovered that I like working with people. There's exists a dynamic there you do not get with still life. Included below are links to all the places I have an online prescence as a photographer as well as the equipment I'm using. If you're into photography, want to learn, or would like to experiment with being a subject please feel free to drop me an email. One can never have enough practice and I could use the motivation.

My Official Portfolio - Powered by SmugMug
I originally started out making my portfolio on this site but it got to be a hassle very quickly. After searching for a site to create my own online portfolio I finally settled on Smugmug.com. I have to say I'm fairly impressed. They have three different options but I chose the pro because you get unlimited storage, can replace all the branding on their site with your own (assuming you know html), can use a previously obtained domain and can even sell prints. Pretty much EVERYTHING on the site is customizable including look, navigation, prices, comments and you can even hide galleries with passwords for friends and family. If you're semi-serious about amateur photography (even if you have your own webspace like me) or just want to share photos with friends and family I suggest you check them out. There are a ton of crappy free sites out there but this one is actually worth the price of admission.

Networking - Brought to you by flickr
I didn't think I'd use this site because I already had a portfolio. I've since learned that it provides exposure and networking that's unrivaled on the internet. Not only have thousands seen whatever photos I choose to publish I've also found some great photos by great photographers. It really is a great place to look around and see what others are doing.

Model/Photographer Connections - Made possible by One Model Place
This is the most business oriented site of the three. It allows photographers, models, makeup artists and anyone else "in the biz" to find each other. You chose your level of involvement, including what type of work you'd like to do, based on how serious you are. People of all experience levels are represented and while I'm no professional, I've had success in finding professional-esque amateurs to work with.
