A few people have asked me "What's with the Samurai?" or "What's the deal with the Japanese theme?" so I'm going to explain. When I was young, I thought the samurai were a pretty cool looking bunch of guys. I can't say I ever really wanted to be a Cowboy, but I can remember thinking it would be bad ass to walk around and fight people with a sword. As I got older, numerous research report assignments allowed me, or should I say forced me, to learn more about the samurai. The more I learned, the more I grew to respect the samurai, their set of ideals known as bushido and their diligence to honor. Over time, my boyhood fascination grew into adulthood admiration. It is in dedication that I choose to decorate my webpage, and ultimately my life, with the samurai.

Web design is something I've picked up in recent years really as a hobby more than anything else. I started out messing with a personal site, which quickly fell into disrepair. My next exploit came in the form of the website for the racing series I run in. We were looking for a way to promote 944 racing and the idea of the series came about. Without a website, we had nothing. I took on the responsibility two years ago with limited knowledge. Countless web design sites and many hours of experimentation eventually lead to the Cup's site. It has changed over the years but I have tried my hand at a few other sites in that time. Click the links below to check out sites I master.

I would love to do website design for money but unfortunately the time commitment for a site with monetary consequences is not something I can make right now. In the meantime, I will continue to dabble here and there with this website while doing my best to futher my site design education.

If you'd like to set up your own personal site, I would be more than happy to help you get started. Like many hobbies, sharing it with others is sometimes the best part of the experience. I won't do it for you but I can certainly arm you with the knowledge to get your own site off the ground in a few simple steps.

If you're looking for someone to host your site I highly recommend iPowerWeb. This site, as well as 2 other sites I maintain, are all hosted by iPowerWeb and I've never been anything but exremely pleased. One of those sites was even transferred over to iPowerWeb after I stumbled on to them by chance. 800 megs of space, a bajillion e-mail addresses, 40 gigs of transfer, a free domain name and lots more for as a little at $7 a month is hard to beat.
