I had a friend in high school who talked of nothing but bikes. I hadn't noticed motorcycles before I knew him but the more he talked about them the more I realized how amazing they were. By the time I was old enough to drive, I had decided that one day I would own a motorcycle. My mom, being the mother that she is, would never let me have a bike while I was in school... and rightfully so. While in college, since I was no longer under her roof, I began to save money from summer jobs in hopes of one day buying a bike. I knew I didn't want to finance and I knew I wasn't responsible enough yet to have one so I was okay with saving slowly. About five years later I had enough money, but also happened to be in a serious relationship with a girl I was considering marrying. The bike would have to wait because six months after that my bike account balance was zero and I was engaged. After buying her ring I began saving again and ten years after first deciding to own one I've finally realized the dream.
