Another year down and I have to say, it was a very strange one. I ended up in the same leagues as last year, although most of them weren’t exactly the same as previous years. The league with my dad was the most similar, but with me living in Seattle and my dad living in South Carolina, this was the first year the whole group didn’t drive to somewhere in Maryland to draft. The family league only had four competitors (Me, Melissa, my cousin and his brother in law) and wasn’t for any money because we never got around to agreeing. The league I commission was the most… different. I wasn’t going to run one but about half the league said they were interested a few weeks before the season. Since this was around the time Melissa left, I hastily set up a new league at ESPN (from CBS) and screwed up a bunch of settings from my lack of due diligence in the process. The end result was a league with mid-season rule votes, changes and non-changes that just left a bad feeling in a lot of peoples’ mouths, including mine. Given the difficulties, I probably should have foregone hosting one – something I will probably do next year.

- The big money league went very much the same as year. I managed to make the playoffs, despite being pretty low on points and lost both games once making it there. I did manage a five game win streak to put me in first at 9-3 after week 12, but I wouldn’t win another game after that. Dropping the last two games of the season and losing both playoffs games is a crappy way to end a season, but at least I made it to the playoffs (for the third year in a row) and got my money back.
- I don’t have that much to say about my other fantasy league as I was mediocre all season long. I did pretty well in points, but that about having as many crappy weeks as I had really good ones. My team just couldn’t product consistently and I missed the playoffs by a good margin.
- I won my family league! Naturally, it would come the year it’s not for any money. There were only three other competitors but I did win or tie 8 of the last 11 weeks of the season. I’m electing to feel good about this one.
