Living Healthy: 1 Year
OMG 1 YEAR NO WAI!! Yes, it's hard to believe that I've been attempting to lead a healthier life for a full year now. I've settled into a twice/week routine that seems to be working well for me. It's not too much that I feel it's taking over my life but enough that I feel guilty if I don't go. I've missed my fair share of workouts when I had shingles and was out of town but all in all I'm happy with my level of commitment.
As far as results are concerned, I'd classify them as mixed. I'm targeting a 20% reduction in weight and I've 'only' acheived 6%. Consider that I'm a lot stronger than I used to be and you can actually tell so when I flex... and it's a lot better than the numbers would indicate. I'm down one pants size, on the edge of going down another and I'm on the smallest hole of the new belt I bought 6 months ago. It's no Jared, but I can't really complain about the results.
Now that the weather has started to cool a bit, I think I'm going to try and bike to work. It's ~3.5 miles, which should be relatively easy on a bike. I did 5.5 miles in the gym yesterday and while that's level ground, it only took me 20 minutes. I haven't been on my bike in the better part of 5 years so I don't even know if the thing still works. I'm going to try and get it prepped this weekend so hopefully I'll have good news to report on this endeavor next week.
