Racing Recap

I'd originally created this post Monday to recap my weekend. My news that prompted my previous post and a busy week at work lead me to not really do anything. We're headed to Vegas this weekend (more about that later) so I'm throwing up a quick update.

The weekend itself was bittersweet. Our race Saturday was postponed due to torrential rains, hail and lightning but we made it up Sunday morning. I had a vibration in my car and a bit of vertigo so I didn't do that well. I raced alone, and slow, most of the time with my main competitor catching me with 3 laps to go. We duked it out, caught up to the guys in front of us and I eventually got my competitor back on the last lap after he'd passed me. His video can be seen here... you'll probably want to fast forward to the 14 min mark.

The Sunday afternoon race I qualified 9th, which isn't great. By halfway through the race I'd battled my way all the way up to 4th and was stoked. I kept waiting for the checkered flag since I was fighting to keep a few people behind me. There was some GREAT battling to get to that point with some 3 wide and 2x2 action. I was in 4th for 4-5 laps but a Super Cup car ended up dropping some oil on the track all thru T1 & T2 with 1-2 laps to go so I really slowed up. The guy behind me used the opportunity to make up the gap with another guy right behind him. The guy behind me had tried to get me on the outside of T5 twice so the last time he went for the inside. We got together and I spun allowing his and two more cars by. We came back around to start/finish and got the checkered... turns out it was the LAST lap. Here's the video, let me know what you think.
