Movie: Crash

I'm always skeptical of movies that get a ton of hype, especially since Something About Mary was thoroughly disappointing. A couple people, whose opinion of movies I respect, recommended it so I figured it couldn't be all that bad. Despite a touch of Hollywood predictability I have to say I was pleased overall. Everyone should see it at least once.

The Good:
-Emotion is so real it's rug burn raw
-A few twists keep you wondering if they'll go the predictable route or surprise you
-B List actors (or even C) mean no one overshadows the script
-Interwoven storylines extremely well done
-Thandie Newton (Christine) and Terrence Howard (Cameron)
-Matt Dillon is actually believable as a racist prick

The Bad:
-Some character predictability (i.e. stereotypes aren't accurate)
-A bit slow when they're developing the many characters

The Ugly:
-Brendan Frasier trying to be a serious actor
-Brendan Frasier speaking while doing so
